History	WNYE started out as a high-frequency AM ("apex") station in 1938, switching to FM in 1942, at which time it broadcast at a frequency of 42.1MHz. In 1946, it moved to the new FM band at 91.7, moving again to 91.5 in 1948. The station was transferred from the NYC Board of Education to NYC Dept. of Information Technology & Telecommunications in October, 2004.
