History | The predecessor to this station, WAAT, was first licensed to radio pioneer Frank V. Bremer in 1926, although Bremer had been broadcasting since 1920 or earlier. The Jersey City-based station moved to its present frequency in 1941 and was sold in 1958, when the call letters WNTA were adopted. The station was again sold, becoming WJRZ on March 31, 1962, and it adopted a country format on September 15, 1965. A rock format was introduced in 1970, surviving a 1971 sale and May 17, 1971 call change to WWDJ. Rock WWDJ lasted until 1974, when a religious format was introduced. WWDJ was sold to Salem Media in 1994. The religious format continued until August 3, 2008, after which a conservative talk format was introduced.
