History

  This station`s history can be traced back to 1925, when WIBS was first licensed. It became WHOM in 1930 and moved to the 1480kHz frequency in 1941. Spanish ethnic programming was introducted in 1960 and the call sign was changed to WJIT in 1975. In 1990, the calls were changed to WZRC, with format changes to heavy metal, country, and Korean language programming following. The station was sold to Multicultural Broadcasting in 1998.

Comments

  On March 1, 2002, the Korean language programming heard on WZRC moved to WNSW 1430 AM and the Chinese language programming heard on WNSW moved to WZRC.
